Our story

Originally operating as a traditional pressing shop, the business formed part of Macclesfield’s long-standing textile finishing trade, where garments were carefully shaped and finished by hand using steam, heat and skilled techniques.

Over time, as cleaning methods evolved, the shop developed into a full dry cleaning service, adopting the specialist equipment in use today.
More recently the business was owned by David Walthall, having being passed it by his father, Roy Walthall. Trading as Express Valet Cleaners, the business earned a strong reputation for quality and a friendly service.

Laundrybelle is a new chapter, having taken ownership in 2026, that aims to build on that reputation with a fresh approach focussed on quality, convenience and friendly personal service.
